Dear Terry,
Thanks for your very interesting message. Let me answer your questions.
First of all, about laptops. I have a very old laptop, but I'd like to get a new one, too. For now, I mostly use my desktop computer. I think Samsung or LG computers are probably very good. We have lots of Samsung products in my home including a computer monitor, DVD player and TV. I also have an LG monitor. All of them have worked very well for me. Because I have a student who is a Samsung engineer, I have a special preference for that company's products. I don't know anyone who works for LG. But I think both companies produce good products.
I think the most important thing about a new computer is a really good processor. You want to be able to have good video and audio plus a fast speed. There's nothing more boring than waiting and waiting and waiting for websites to download.
Next, the dating rules at Sangsan sound very reasonable. I like how they have included the idea of "etiquette" and finding ways to get along well with others. Schools in Canada these days have similar rules that are focussed on anti-bullying and empathy. Plus since we have so many cultures in one school, there are a lot of rules about accepting differences.
Now, about the book Uglies, yes, you found the right book. I you would find the book pretty easy, but it may be a little long. It's more than 400 pages. Plus, the story continues into the second book called Pretties and then into a third book called Specials. I belieive you would like it because it's about teens who are the same age as you. I think it's still a good book for you to read sometime in the future. For now, try reading The Pearl. I think I mentioned this book before. You can read an excerpt at this site:
http://www.penguinreaders.com/pdf/downloads/par/sample-pages/The-Pearl.pdf
You will definitely find this to be easy and it is also a short book (about 100 pages). However, even though it's not hard, it's a heartbreaking classic that is loved by people of all ages and all reading abilities. The writer, John Steinbeck, won a Nobel Prize for his work. The theme is a classic one that will give you a lot to write about. What other English books have you read and enjoyed (or hated)?
Finally, your questions.
good but cheep laptops
This is OK but you just have to correct the spelling to this:
good but cheap laptops
Looking up whether I could use the laptop in the dormitory
It's OK.
wireless Internet system
OK too.
wholesome dates
No problem. Clear and accurate. "Wholesome" is a great word.
perform politely
Better to say:
behave politely
I'm worried of if it's too difficult to read for me.
Try this way:
I'm worried about whether it's too difficult for me to read.
Well, time for me to sign off for today. I'm looking forward to reading your next message about the books you've enjoyed or not enjoyed in the past.
CYA,
Gwen
