Hi Terry,
Thanks for answering my questions about what your family does for Christmas. It's really cool that your dad's birthday is on Christmas eve. He gets a "double whammy" celebration.
You sent some delicious-looking pictures of sushi. However, I have to agree that your plate looked more delicious to me than your parents' plate. I'm not a fan of raw fish. I like sushi a lot, but I always eat the cooked fish or vegee kind. California roll is the most popular sushi here in Canada and I like it a lot. I'm sure you have it in Korea, but here's a picture just in case:
I also lived in Japan for awhile. I don't know if we've talked about this before. Anyway, while in Japan, I discovered "inari sushi." This is another favorite of mine. Here's a pic:
Since we're talking about food, I am curious about something else in Korea: pizza. It seems that all my students are crazy for sweet potato on their pizza. How about you? I've never tried a sweet potato pizza and we don't have this as a topping in Canada. However, I think I can make a sweet potato pizza on my own. Can you give me some suggestions on how to prepare it?
In the meantime, I want to give you some suggestions about what you wrote. You said:
I'm happy that you also love that laptop computer. And I'll do wait until next February in case of the price will go down, as you told me.
I'm interested that you wrote, "I'll do wait." I believe that you want to express this with some emphasis. So let me show you how. You can say it this way:
I will wait....in case the price goes down...
When we want to say something with "I'll" in a strong and emphatic way, we always say. "I will." In spoken English, the "will" gets a big stress, which it normally doesn't when we say, "I'll."
Well, I'd better go and get to work on preparing my classes for tomorrow. I hope you have a great day! Talk to you soon,
Gwen
